We Know the Market
Boating is our life. We offer expert industry advice and a trusted reputation. With over
45 years of experience we know how to list and sell your vessel.
We offer a buying network with an extensive boater
demographic. We also offer a large footprint through our
multiple locations.

Keeping the sale as quiet as possible
No awkward conversations with neighbours in the marina, no external photos with boat names, no board, yes we no branded cars. People will not know how long your boat has been on the market. No time wasting viewings. All viewings are accompanied viewings. You know your boat best, but we know that when you are marketing offline every viewing counts.

So How Do I Sell my Boat?
Firstly you should complete our brokerage questionnaire form (Next Step bellow) giving as much detail as possible, and send us some recent colour photographs of your boat (if you have any). We will then, if possible, view your boat so that we can advise you on the best price and how best to prepare her for selling. Once the price is agreed we will prepare a set of boat details which we will send to you for approval. If your boat is lying locally you should make a set of hatch keys available to us, as we will, as far as practicable, accompany all viewers. Those we can't be with will be introduced to the Harbour Master or whoever holds the keys.

What Paperwork Do I Need?
You will need to show at least 5 years clear title but preferably original Bills of Sale back to when the boat was new. VAT receipts are becoming particularly important especially if your boat is newer than 1985. If your boat was imported into the EU after June 1998 then you will need to show RCD compliance.
|
|
Needed Ownership Papers
1. Bill of Sale of Receipt from when you purchased the boat
2. Previous Bill/s of Sale or Receipts dating back at 5 least years
3. Bills of Sale/Receipts dating back to original build
4. Builders Certificate
5. CE Certificate
6. Proof of VAT Payment or Exception (eg.Original VAT Invoice etc)
7. Small Ships Registry Certificate
8. Part 1 British Registry Certification
9. RCD Compliance documentation if imported into EU after 15 June 1998
Note: If you don't have the correct documents then please tell us straight away so we can assist you with doing some detective work

Good, You Have Found A Buyer
But How Do I Handle The Sale? |
|
You don't. Once again relax and leave it to the experts. We start by passing on all offers. We continue to support and advise you on which offer to accept (according to the state of the market) and ensure that you get the best possible price and terms. Once the price is settled we prepare the contract and ask for a 10% deposit. The buyer will normally make the offer subject to a survey, if your boat is afloat and with your permission, we will arrange for her to be lifted out of the water, scrubbed off, surveyed and returned to her berth, all at the purchaser's expense. We try to avoid price adjustments after the survey, however, if she needs major surgery then we will keep costs to a minimum, partly by knowing the most cost-effective methods and partly by skilled negotiation. We will then prepare all paperwork including Bills of Sale and Registration documents for you to sign. All money is cleared through our Clients Account (trust status) and finally passed on to you, less our fee.
